Chicago Ridge

Town in Cook County, northeastern Illinois, USA; population (1990) 13,700. Chicago Ridge is a suburb of Chicago 24 km/15 mi southwest of the Loop. Mainly a residential community, it also contains steel tanks and lumber mills, remnants of an earlier time when the town was more industrial. The population grew by 500% in 1950–60.

Argonne Forest, a county preserve, lies 6 km/4 mi to the west.
