Chickasha

City in central Oklahoma, USA, on the Washita River, 64 km/40 mi southwest of Oklahoma City; seat of Grady County; population (1990) 15,000. It is the trade and processing centre for an area rich in petroleum and agriculture. It markets corn, cotton, wheat, alfalfa, livestock, oil, and natural gas and produces cottonseed oil, flour, feed, and dairy goods. Among its manufactures are farm machinery, oilfield equipment, horse trailers, and electronic components.

It is the seat of the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (1908).
