Chiddingfold

Village in Surrey, England, 14 km/9 mi south of Guildford; population (2001) 2,900. It was a centre for the medieval glass industry, examples of which are now displayed in the 13th-century church. The 15th-century inn has one of the oldest licences in England.

Mr Hawker was on holiday in South Africa with his wife Patricia and friends Charles and Fiona Buck, from Chiddingfold, Surrey.
There are strange goings-on in Chiddingfold, the Surrey base from which small-time trainer Peter Winkworth suddenly can't stop sending out winners — six from 17 runners this month.
On Monday, Winkworth was told that his Chiddingfold yard was inside the 10km zone established by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and, as a result, the British Horseracing Authority could not allow him to have any runners until further notice.
