Joseph

Opera by Étienne Méhul (libretto by A Duval), first produced at the Opéra-Comique, Paris, France, on 17 February 1807. Carl Maria von Weber wrote piano variations, Op. 28, on a romance from it. The opera recounts how Joseph, sold into slavery by his brothers, is successful in Egypt. He later meets them and tests their remorse.
