Chigi

Italian family, originally from Siena, that included Agostino Chigi (1465–1520), a Roman banker and patron of the arts who built the Villa Farnesina in Rome (1508–11); Fabio Chigi (1599–1667), Pope 1652–67, better known as Alexander VII; and Flavio Chigi (1810–1885), created a cardinal in 1873.
