Chino

City in San Bernardino County, southwestern California, USA, 55 km/34 mi east of Los Angeles and just east of the Puente Hills; population (1990) 59,700. Historically a trade centre in a citrus producing and dairy farming area, it has grown rapidly as a Los Angeles suburb, quadrupling in population since 1970. There are a variety of light industries in the area.

The California Institution for Men, a state prison, is here, and Chino Airport to the southeast is a centre for recreational pilots.
