Choshi

Choshi

City in Chiba prefecture, Japan, on the east coast of Honshu island, 105 km/65 mi from Tokyo; population (1995 est) 82,200. It is one of Japan's leading deep-sea fishing ports, but has also manufactured soy sauce since the early 17th century. Its tourism attractions include the scenery of nearby Inubo Saki (Inubo Point) and Byobuga Lake.
