Chryssa (born Varda Chryssa) (1933– )

Greek-born US sculptor. She is known for her abstract letter form sculptures, such as Cycladic Books (1955), her neon-light tubing, as in Five Variations on the Ampersand (1966), and her mixed media work, Gates of Times Square (1964–66).

She was born in Athens, Greece. She studied in Paris 1953–54, attended the California School of the Arts 1954–55, and settled in New York City in 1955.
