Also found in: Encyclopedia 0.02 sec.

Cicero, Quintus Tullius (c. 102-43 BC)

Roman administrator and soldier, younger brother of the orator Marcus Tullius Cicero.

Cicero held the office of praetor 62 BC, and was then governor in Asia for three years. He later served very creditably as one of Julius Caesar's officers in Gaul, and then served on the staff of his brother Marcus Cicero when Marcus was governor of Cilicia 51-50 BC. He joined Pompey against Caesar in the civil war, but later reinstated himself with Caesar. He was put to death when, along with his brother, he was declared an enemy of the state in the proscriptions of 43 BC.
