Cimmerii

Ancient tribe which originally occupied the region of the Sea of Azov, northeast of the Black Sea, and Asiatic Sarmatia.

Driven out by the Scythians, they moved into Asia Minor and invaded Lydia about 657 BC, but were finally expelled by Alyattes (610–560 BC).
