City of Industry

City in Los Angeles County, southwestern California, USA, 27 km/17 mi east of downtown Los Angeles and just south of El Monte; population (1990) 631. An industrial centre on the Southern Pacific Railroad, industries include solar energy, climate control, and other high technology areas.

The 1840s adobe Workman House is part of a 2.5 ha/6 ac historic site in the city.
