Clan-Na-Gael

Secret society formed by Fenians (see Fenian movement) in the USA about 1883. Its object was to force the British government to give home rule to Ireland.

The headquarters of the society were in Chicago, but it had agents in England and Ireland, who were responsible for assassinations and bombings in the 1880s.
