Claremore

City in northeastern Oklahoma, USA, 40 km/25 mi northeast of Tulsa; seat of Rogers County; population (1990) 13,300. It is a market and processing centre for livestock, agricultural products, coal, oil, and gas, and its mineral springs have made it a noted resort.

It is the site of the grave (1935) of the cowboy-humorist Will Rogers, born in Oologah. Oklahoma Military Academy (1920) is here.
