Clarence House

House in London, residence of HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. It stands immediately opposite Friary Court, St James's Palace, and was built by John Nash in 1825–29 for William IV when he was Duke of Clarence. It was enlarged by one storey in 1873.
