2 miles: 1967, 1968; 3 miles: 1964, 1965 (twice), 1966; 5,000 metres: 1965 (3 times), 1966; 6 miles: 1963; 10,000 metres: 1963, 1965; 10 miles: 1965; 20,000 metres: 1965; one-hour run: 1965

The first person to break 13 minutes for the 3 miles, in 1966, he was also the first to better 28 minutes for the 10,000 metres. Despite his record-breaking achievements, he never won a gold medal at a major championship.
