Clayton County

County in northwestern Georgia, USA; area 383 sq km/148 sq mi; population (1990) 182,100. The county is drained by the Flint River. Its seat is Jonesboro. In the agricultural Piedmont area, it now includes several of Atlanta's southern residential suburbs.
