Clearfield

City in Davis County, northern Utah, USA, 14 km/9 mi southwest of Ogden; population (1990) 21,400. A commercial centre in an irrigated farming area on the east of the Great Salt Lake, Clearfield also trades and processes sugar beets, fruits, and vegetables.

Hill Air Force Base (1940), just northeast of the city, Utah's largest such facility, and Freeport Center, one of the state's largest industrial parks, are the city's major employers. Clearfield also has a naval supply depot.
