Cleator Moor

Town in Cumbria, England, 6 km/4 mi southeast of Whitehaven; population (2001) 6,900. Cleator Moor is a modern town that developed around the old village of Cleator as a centre for haematite mining. The village has a church incorporating some Norman architecture.
