Cleburne, Patrick

Cleburne, Patrick (Ronayne) (1828–1864)

Irish-born US Confederate soldier. Emigrating to the USA, he prospered as a druggist, and later as a lawyer, in Helena, Arkansas. A commander in Confederate service, Cleburne fought at Shiloh, Perryville, Chickamauga, and Chattanooga. He was killed in battle at Franklin, Tennessee, on 30 November 1864.

He was born in County Cork, Ireland, and at one time served in the British army.
