kleptoparasitism

Habitual stealing of food from another organism. Skuas kleptoparasitize other seabirds, forcing them to relinquish their catches midflight. The Spanish slug Deroceras hilbrandi takes prey from the insect-eating plant Pinguicula vallisneriifolia whilst leaving the edible plant unharmed. Many small spiders are kleptoparasites living on the webs of bigger spiders.
