Clermont County

County in southwestern Ohio, USA; area 1,181 sq km/456 sq mi; population (1990) 150,200. The county is bounded by the Ohio River at the Kentucky state line (to the southwest) and the Little Miami River (to the northwest). It includes the East Fork of the Little Miami River and William H Harsha Lake. Its seat is Batavia. A number of Cincinnati's residential suburbs occupy the northwestern part of the county. Agriculture (corn, fruit, dairy, livestock, tobacco, and wheat) is important, and there are also nurseries. Batavia, Bethel, Milford, and New Richmond have some manufacturing industry.
