Clew Bay

Inlet on the west coast of County Mayo, Republic of Ireland. From the Atlantic it passes inland for 24 km/15 mi, with an almost uniform breadth of 13 km/8 mi. Clare Island faces its entrance, and the upper part is dotted with some 300 fertile islets.

From the Harbour Mill apartments, we moved on to the Clew Bay Hotel, situated in the very heart of Westport town.
We stayed at the centrally situated three star Clew Bay Hotel with comfortable rooms furbished to modern standards and benefiting from an adjoining bistro and bar, both open to the general public.
After a hard day's climbing, it's then a short drive to the town of Westport at the south-east corner of Clew Bay and the family-run Clew Bay Hotel, where a warm welcome awaits from husband and wife team Darren and Maria Madden.
