Clinton County

County in south-central Michigan, USA; area 1,484 sq km/573 sq mi; population (1990) 57,900. The county is drained by the Looking Glass, Maple, and Grand rivers. Its seat is St Johns. The county has dairying and grows peppermint, beans, fruit, grain, and sugar beets. Oil refining and some manufacturing are carried out at St Johns and Ovid.
