Clonard

Village in County Meath, Republic of Ireland, 6 km/4 mi southwest of Trim. The great monastic school of Clonard, known throughout Europe in the Middle Ages, was founded here by St Finnian in the 6th century. Nothing remains of this, nor of an Augustinian monastery founded in 1175.
