| The building was designed by John Philpot Jones of Clonmel, County Tipperary, Ireland in the Lombard Romanesque style, and makes use of a number of features typically associated with the churches of Northern Italy, in particular its rounded arches and pyramidal roofed campanile (O'Dea, 1988). Clonmel, County Tipperary (about three hours southwest of Dublin), is host to this year's fleadh, Aug. Their repeated insistence that the trial was held in an English court is dubious in that the judge and jurors were Irish, the setting was Clonmel and the verdict seems to have coincided with community opinion. |
