Cloquet

City in Carlton County, northeastern Minnesota, USA, on the St Louis River, 27 km/17 mi southwest of Duluth; population (2000) 11,200. Situated in a heavily forested region, it has long been dominated by the paper and pulp industry; paper and matches are important manufactures.

The original town was largely destroyed by fire in 1918. There is a gas station designed by Frank Lloyd Wright here. The Fond du Lac Indian Reservation is to the west.

The Four Hills Of Life by co-authors Thomas Peacock (A professor of education at University OF Minnesota Duluth) and Marlene Wisuri (Director Of The Carlton County Historical Society in Cloquet, Minnesota) is a compilation of Ojibwe wisdom, especially as relating to the four stages of the journey of life - early childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and old age.
Sappi Fine Paper North America is also now the largest coated woodfree producer in the region, running two mills in Maine (Somerset and Westbrook), another in Michigan (Muskegon), and the group's most recent acquisition, the Cloquet mill in Minnesota.
One of Goward's sons, David Goward of Cloquet, wasn't home on Thursday but told the Star Tribune he tries not to dwell on their relationship.
