Clydebank

Town on the River Clyde, part of West Dunbartonshire unitary authority, Scotland, 10 km/6 mi northwest of Glasgow; population (2001) 29,900. At the John Brown yard, liners such as the Queen Elizabeth II were built and launched. Shipbuilding is now in decline.

Some of the largest passenger and other ships were launched from here. The town was badly damaged by bombing in World War II.
