pneumoconiosis

Disease of the lungs caused by an accumulation of dust, especially from coal, asbestos, or silica. Inhaled particles make the lungs gradually fibrous and the victim has difficulty breathing. Over many years the condition causes severe disability.

Based on the first National Study of Coal Workers' Pneumoconiosis (CWP) and the U.
Regarding clinical outcomes, the results showed a positive association for coal workers' pneumoconiosis among workers who had tow catalase activity and an Ncol polymorphism in the LTA gene.
This fibrosis is a frequently described component of coal workers' pneumoconiosis.
