Cobbold, William

Cobbold, William (1560–1639)

English organist and composer. He was organist at Norwich Cathedral 1599–1608, and was one of the ten musicians who harmonized the tunes in Thomas East's Psalter of 1592. In 1601 he contributed a madrigal to the collection The Triumphes of Oriana. Among his other few surviving works are 11 consort songs.
