Cochin-ChinaRegion of Southeast Asia. With Cambodia it formed part of the ancient Khmer empire. In the 17th–18th centuries it was conquered by Annam. Together with Cambodia it became, from 1863 to 1867, the first part of the Indochinese peninsula to be occupied by France. Since 1949 it has been part of Vietnam. How to thank TFD for its existence?
