Cohn, Mildred

Cohn, Mildred (1913– )

US biochemist and biophysicist. She made major advances in enzymology, the use of stable isotopes in metabolic studies, and in biophysical investigations of electron spin and nuclear magnetic resonance. She carried out research at Cornell 1938–46, then moved to Washington University, St Louis, Missouri, 1946–60. She joined the University of Pennsylvania (1960–82),

She was born in New York City. She remained active after retirement, serving the Institute for Cancer Research in Philadelphia 1982–85, and lecturing as a visiting professor at various institutions.
