Cojedes

Densely forested state in northern Venezuela, which lies on the llanos (plains); area 15,446 sq km/5,964 sq mi; population (1996) 227,741. The state capital is at San Carlos. Cojedes is primarily a cattle-grazing region, with some arable farming. Coffee is grown in the north.
