Cold Spring

Town in Philipstown, Putnam County, southeastern New York, USA, on the eastern bank of the Hudson River, across from West Point, and 10 km/6 mi southeast of Newburgh; population (1990) 2,000. In a farming and dairying region, the town is a trade centre with some light industry.

Its large foundry, established in 1814, produced guns used during the Civil War.
