Cole, Vinson (1950- )

US tenor. He studied at the Curtis Institute and made his debut there in 1975, as Werther. His European debut was in 1976, with the Welsh National Opera, as Belmonte, and he sang with the St Louis Opera 1976-80 as Tamino and Comte Ory. In the 1991-92 season he sang Mozart's Requiem under Solti, Edgardo at Detroit, and Ferrando at Seattle. He performed with the New York City Opera from 1981, making his debut as Nicolai's Fenton.
