Coleman, William

Coleman, William (1766–1829)

US journalist. In 1801 he cofounded the New York Evening Post, which he edited under the supervision of Alexander Hamilton; its vituperative pro-Federalist editorials attracted many lawsuits, none of them successful.

He was born in Boston, Massachusetts.
