Collins, Eddie (1887-1951)

US baseball player. As a second baseman for the Philadelphia Athletics and Chicago White Sox 1906-30, he compiled a lifetime batting average of .333. He was an honest member of the 1919 ‘Black Sox’ team that deliberately lost the World Series.

He was born in Millerton, New York. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1939.
