Colman, George (1732-1794)

English dramatist and theatre manager. He wrote a great number of plays, including The Jealous Wife (1761) and (in collaboration with David Garrick) The Clandestine Marriage (1766). He was one of the lessees of the Covent Garden Theatre 1766-74 and manager of the Haymarket Theatre 1776-94, both in London.
