Colonna, Prospero (1452-1523)

Italian condottiere and member of the famous Colonna family. He offered to help Charles VIII of France when he invaded Italy 1494-95 and later entered the service of the pope. Among his many victories were those of Vicenza in 1513, against the Venetians, and Bicocca in 1522, against the Franco-German forces under Odet de Foix, Vicomte de Lautrec.
