Colville

City in northeastern Washington, USA, on the Colville River, 111 km/69 mi north-northwest of Spokane; seat of Stevens County; population (1990) 4,400. In a timbering region, between units of Colville National Forest, the city now produces silver, lead, and wheat.

Colville was the centre of a mining area from the mid 1850s. The huge Colville Indian Reservation begins 32 km/20 mi to the southwest.
