Colville

River in Alaska, USA, flowing to the Beaufort Sea; length 605 km/375 mi. The major river of Alaska's North Slope, it rises in streams in the Brooks Range and flows generally east-northeast to the Beaufort Sea west of Prudhoe Bay. Its tributaries include the Anaktuvuk and Killik rivers. The Inuit community of Nuiqsut (city; population (2000) 433) is on the west of its delta.
