mousebird

Any of a family of small crested birds found only in Africa. They have hairlike feathers, long tails, and move with a mouselike agility. The largest is the blue-naped mousebird (Colius macrourus), about 35 cm/14 in long. (Family Coliidae, order Coliiformes.)
