Commerce City

City in Adams County, north-central Colorado, USA, 11 km/7 mi northeast of Denver; population (1990) 16,500. Commerce City is a suburb of Denver. It has oil refineries, steel plants, and flour mills, and trades and ships beans and sugar beets from nearby farms.
