Fermented alcoholic beverage similar to hard cider, but made from pears, produced mainly in Normandy and the English West Country.

Perry

Seat of Houston County, central Georgia, USA, 38 km/24 mi south of Macon; population (1990) 9,500. It is a market centre for the region's peach industry. Other industries include brewing, and the production of carpets and veneer.
