Communications Electronics Security Group

Part of GCHQ (Government Communications Headquarters), the UK government's security monitoring service. CESG is the UK government's national technical authority for cryptography, information security, and public key infrastructure.

The group's main customers are Civil Service departments and the armed forces, as well as other public sector organizations and private companies with a role in the UK's critical information technology infrastructure (such as power, water, and telecommunications companies).
