Van Dijk cites growing applications in automotive water pumps, temperature-regulator modules, fuel pumps, transmission reactor/stators, and commutators. With a switch to automatized communication systems based on digital fast communication and computer commutators, and optical fiber channels technological rivalry will become even fiercer. In addition, the omni-directional technology creates a virtually maintenance free unit; AC motors eliminate brushes and commutators and are lubricated for life eliminating the need for additional greasings and fittings. |
