Conception Bay South

Town in southeastern Newfoundland, Canada, on the northeastern Avalon Peninsula and the southeastern shore of Conception Bay, 22 km/14 mi west-southwest of St John's; population (1991) 17,600. An amalgamation of a number of small coastal settlements, it is a resort and suburban community for workers in St John's.
