Opera by Riccardo Zandonai (libretto, in French, by M Vaucaire, translated into Italian by C Zangarini, based on P Louÿs' novel La Femme et le pantin), first produced at the Teatro dal Verme, Milan, Italy, on 14 October 1911. The libretto was originally written for Puccini.
