Concord Sonata

Work for piano by Charles Ives in four movements: Emerson, Hawthorne, The Alcotts, Thoreau, after the Concord, Massachusetts, group of writers admired by Ives. It was composed 1909–15 and the first complete performance was given in New York City on 20 January 1939, by John Kirkpatrick.
