conditional clause

In a sentence, a clause where the action proposed in the main clause is dependent on the fulfilment of the subordinate clause, for example: ‘If you be good, you can go to the party.’ ‘You can't go in unless you have a ticket.’ Conditional clauses are introduced by the conjunctions if or unless.
