Connolly, (Thomas Henry) Tom (1870-1961)

English-born US baseball umpire. His family moved to Natick, Massachusetts, when he was 13. As an American League umpire 1901-31, he umpired the first ever American League game in 1901 and the first ever World Series game in 1903.

He was born in Manchester, England. He was elected to baseball's Hall of Fame in 1953.
